Northern Sonoma County Mothers' Club
Joining the NSCMC board is a great way to become involved in the day-to-day
aspects of the club and to meet new friends. A new board term begins each June, but
positions often become available throughout the term. Board members must be able
to attend the monthly board meetings on the first Wednesday of each month. If you
are interested in becoming part of the board, please contact the current president by
sending us an email.
The President is responsible for directing all club activities and functions. Provides
back up for all board positions and reassigns board positions as necessary. Runs
monthly board meeting and general meeting. (It is suggested that this position be
filled by someone with at least one prior year of board experience).
The Vice President serves as back up for President, attends board meetings and
monthly meetings.
The Secretary attends board meetings to record minutes, and distributes them to
the board.
The Treasurer maintains payables and receivables for Club, as well as a balanced
checkbook. Regularly checks club P.O. Box for new membership forms and alerts
Board when a new member has joined.
The New Member Coordinator maintains and mails out new member packet to all
new members. Plans New Member Social once a year.
The Publicity Coordinator facilitates production and distribution of Club flyers and
brochures to various locations around town. Checks club voicemail/email regularly
and follows up on each inquiry. Is the community liaison.
The Web Site Coordinator maintains and updates Club website, including calendar
of events as needed. Recommends changes or enhancements to Board as needed.
The Hospitality Coordinator greets members and new members at each general
meeting. Organizes sign in sheet, name tags, and membership applications at each
meeting. Arranges refreshments for general meeting.
The Play Group Coordinator serves as the main contact for all play groups. Assigns
locations for monthly open play groups, finds rainy day alternatives.
The Social Events Coordinator oversees planning of all Club events and delegates
various tasks to social committee. Events include (but may vary yearly): Wee
Wheelers, Old Fashioned Family Picnic, Halloween Party, Holiday Party, and Easter
Party.
In A Pinch Coordinator recruits a team to prepare meals as needed and delegates
meal prep for members in need. Submits "thank yous" to newsletter of those who
provided meals.
Newsletter Staff:
The Newsletter Coordinator is responsible for newsletter layout and production.
Prepares finished newsletter, tapes newsletter closed as per USPS regulations,
prints labels and affixes them to newsletters. Newsletters are delivered to the post
office for delivery by the 1st of the month.
The Calendar Coordinator creates the calendar for coming month showing club and
selected community events. Emails completed calendar to newsletter coordinator by
the 15th of each month.
The Advertising Coordinator contacts new potential advertisers and sells ads.
Maintains contact with current advertisers and facilitates renewal of ads. Lays out
advertising pages each month for newsletter and emails to newsletter coordinator by
the 15th of each month.
